Record first. Prepare when finished.
A clearer finish gesture, one preparation indicator, and a recording pause while your yap is prepared.
Rapid-fire recording should not compete with caption processing between takes. Preparation now waits until you finish the yap, while opening and closing the drawer leaves the recording session unfinished.
The familiar recording circle becomes the preparation screen. You can still browse and play completed yaps, but new recording waits until preparation ends. An animated ring represents the combined work without promising an inaccurate percentage.
iPhone diagnostics also identified a saved-media read failure before captions began. Finishing now stores completion separately instead of rewriting video records. This removes a suspected trigger while preserving the recordings.
In this release
- Improved
Finish with a downward swipe between clips, hold and swipe down during recording, or reach the time limit. Preparation waits for the final clip to save.
- Improved
The recording circle shows one Preparing your yap state. New recording and adding clips are unavailable during preparation; browsing and playback remain available.
- Recovery
Preparation failures offer retry and allow recording to continue. Failed captions do not discard the prepared video.
- Improved
Swipe up from an unfinished recording session to open that yap’s details directly, without relying on red selection highlights.
- Improved
Captions default to enabled for fresh installations, while existing preferences are preserved. Enabling captions on a prepared video reuses its saved render.
- Storage
Finishing saves completion metadata separately from media. Unfinished clips remain saved and do not begin preparation merely because the app restarts.
- Diagnostics
Preparation reports distinguish media reads, track inspection, and module loading, including recognized storage error types.
